Retreat Days for Qualified Therapists & Reiki Masters "Who Cares for the Professional Carer on the Front Line?" Our Retreat Days are a special time to come away and 'rest awhile' experiencing the healing energy surrounding beautiful Cumbria (the ancient Celtic Kingdom of Rhegged). It is said that our sacred sites in Cumbria precede Glastonbury! Having given 38 years of my professional life as a qualified Nurse specialising in Palliative Care I also established a 'Respite Facility' in my own home in Nr Wales for religious sisters and professional carers who had 'become ill and burnt out' due to the pressures of their ministering onto others on the 'front line'. I became painfully aware of this lack of professional support from the NHS when I became mentally ill following a breakdown in 1995 and forced to take ill health retirement in 1997 because of the adverse side effects of a well known anti depressant! "Who cares for the carer when the chips are down? We do!" Our Retreat days are an essential part of our survival as Therapists if we are to be 'effective healers/therapists' with our client base. Often, we neglect our needs at the expense of trying to do too much for client who often drain us of our energies affecting our performance as therapists. This 'downward spiral' usually results in problems with our relationships with loved ones, family and colleagues. My experience over the years has taught me a salutary and painful lesson about 'Rescuing other' at the expense of loosing my inner peace and health. The
purpose of the Retreats is what they say they are: We are now negotiating a residential w/end for a large group of between 15-25 therapists in beautiful Windermere so that therapists can totally relax in a small friendly environment that lends itself to being pampered in one's mind, body and spirit. The workshops will be run at the Marcesi Centre, Windermere which is minutes walk away from the accommodation. We hope to extend this further by running a one week's 'Retreat Holiday' in Madeira in January of each year. If you belong to a small group of Therapists/Reiki Masters of 6 - 10 people, we can accommodation a private one day retreat here in my home in the small village of Storth near Arnside/Carnforth. The woodlands and forests make an ideal classroom for smaller groups to work as a united group who already know each other and feel safe working with that group.

If you belong to a larger Forum/Group (15-30 people) we can arrange to run the retreat day at the Marcesi Centre in Windermere. The room that we use is built on the sacred energy lines of Cumbria. An ideal venue to work in as it generates a positive sense of 'well-being' for all participants who work from there.
